England Notable Misses From the Euro 2024 Squad
Marcus Rashford
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been left out of the Gareth Southgate provisional squad as a result of his drop-off form in the 2023–24 season. Rashford has only managed to score seven goals all season for Manchester United and provide only two assists.

Henderson has also been left out of the Gareth Southgate provisional squad ahead of their trip to Germany. The 33-year-old midfielder made 12 appearances for Ajax after moving from Saudi Arabian AL Ettifaq in January but has failed to register any goals for his new club.
England coach Gareth Southgate has explained his reasons for Rashford and Henderson's omissions.
“These are difficult calls. You’re talking about very important players over a number of years. But other players have had better seasons than Marcus Rashford, it’s as simple as that. “Henderson, we’re taking a longer squad with young players to look at as well. The detmining factor is the injury in the last camp, he’s missed five weeks and hasn’t been able to get to the intensity since then. He’s been so important and supportive in my time here. “Ben [Chilwell], Marcus and Jordan were incredibly professional and considering the disappointment, they dealt with it well.
