Spanish tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz and U.S. tennis star Coco Gauff, before their participation in the China Open, embraced the cultural and traditional experience of the Chinese by visiting the Forbidden City in local traditional outfits.

The World Number Three Carlos Alcaraz arrived at the Laver Cup after going undefeated to help Spain qualify for the ‘Final 8’ stage of the Davis Cup. However, before the action in court commences, the Spaniard, along with WTA star Coco Gauff, took time to explore the Chinese capital.
In a trending video recorded while standing in front of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the two Grand Slam champions were seen wearing a combination of contemporary and traditional outfits. Coco Gauff looked stunning in intricate Chinese embroidery, reflecting the grace of Chinese culture. Equally captivating was Alcaraz, who wore a stylish tailored changshan, showing his appreciation for the host country's cultural history.
“It was a great experience being there. I couldn't go around much last year. For me, it's great to see the culture here in China, see different things. Being there [in the Forbidden City] was a great experience for me. I'm really happy to be back here again in Beijing.”
The Forbidden City is the imperial palace complex in the center of the Imperial City in Beijing, China. It is a historic palace that was once the home of China's emperors for five centuries.
Coco Gauff, who has been documenting her travels on social media, also toured Forbidden City's museum, where she learned more about the artifacts housed there. The Americans also shared a video of herself touring the Great Wall of China, joking that she "rented the Great Wall all to myself." Gauff shared an amazing video of the magnificent views from the top of the historic building, giving her followers a peek into her voyage.
Coco is the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will begin play on Thursday, September 26, against Clara Burel of France in the Round of 64. Meanwhile, Alcaraz is the No. 2 seed and will face France's Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the Round of 32 on Wednesday night.
