Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed Alisson Becker has returned to training and is expected to be in action for the Liverpool game against Wolves on Saturday.
Bet Premier League on Bet365The Brazilian goalkeeper missed the 3-0 victory over Bournemouth last weekend and sat out the 5-1 win in the Carabao Cup against West Ham on Wednesday night following a minor muscle complaint.
When asked about Alisson in his pre-match press conference, Slot revealed that the 31-year-old goalkeeper has been training with his teammates and will challenge Kelleher for a starting spot against the Wolves.
"We think he is [ready]. "He trained yesterday as part of our session with the group and we're expecting him to do the whole session today. So we think he is available, but of course we have to train today."
Slot also reserved special praise for Kelleher, who has made no secret of his desire to leave Liverpool in search of regular playing time over the last few months.
"We're really happy with Alisson being back but I want to emphasise the fact that we did really well in the two games he wasn't involved in." It's another example of having two or even three good options in the position in goal."
