Alexandra Sheepsticked Roberts is a cybersports analyst and Dota 2 caster working for Beyond the Summit Studios. The girl was initially a player: since 2017 she has played in different teams and tried to make her way to the professional scene, but she didn't succeed. Sheepsticked still hopes to become a cyber athlete, but for the last few years she has been spending much more time on her talent work. The girl acted as an analyst and commentator at The International 10 and The International 11, and is already a great achievement. Read more about Alexandra Sheepsticked Roberts in our material.
Player Career
Alexandra was born on October 29, 1996 in Great Britain. Her childhood can be described as quite ordinary, but the girl had one unusual hobby - computer games. Alexandra could play for hours, and over time grew very fond of Dota 2. At first, the girl was just playing, raising MMR and having fun, but at one point she decided to become a cyber athlete and succeed on the professional stage. This happened in 2017. Sheepsticked then made a public promise that she would definitely make her way into cyber sports.
A lot of people laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a professional Dota 2 player. I know it's crazy hard to achieve that goal and I know it's a lot of time and effort, but I still want to try. I want to do it.
First, Alexandra decided on a role in the game: she took the offlane. According to the girl, she's best at playing the complex lane. At that moment Sheepsticked had about 5.5 thousand MMR. To raise the level of the game, she began training in parties with friends who have more than 7-8 thousand rating points.
Over a few years, Alexandra's skill has grown considerably. MMR also increased by a couple thousand. After that Sheepsticked began to try to make her way to the professional scene. She assembled her own squads and joined the already established rosters, but never had any success.
Sheepsticked's best result was making it to the DPC season's closed qualifiers, but she never made it to the Division II, although she was very close to it. At the moment, Sheepsticked still wants to become a professional player and make it to the second division of the DPC league. Alexandra plays in North America, as that region has the least competition.
I still don't want to let go of my kind of serious playing career. I played with my team from North America, we tried to qualify for the DPC recently. We lost in the closed qualifiers, but we made it! It was a start. I think I'd like to try it again. I really enjoy playing Dota 2 and trying hard. It's a lot of fun.
Talent Career
Sheepsticked debuted as a talent quite some time ago, but it was a one-time promotion that didn't help advance her career in any way. We are talking about the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 North America Qualifier, where she worked as an analyst and caster. After that Alexandra hadn't commentated for over a year and a half. All that time she'd been playing Dota 2 and training.
The next time Sheepsticked appeared on a live broadcast was during the regional qualifiers for The International 10 for Europe and CIS. Alexandra did her job well and got an invite to the main tournament of the year where she worked as an analyst. It was the first tournament of that scale for Sheepsticked and she did a great job. She looked really well in front of the camera, she was a great conversationalist, she was able to make interesting points and was a really nice person to talk to. We can say that The International 10 went more than well for Alexandra. She managed to show her professionalism and gain her first publicity.
At that time Sheepsticked was noticed by Beyond the Summit, the cyber-sports casting studio, and Alexandra became a part of it. Since then she has been casting games much more often than playing. Throughout 2022, Sheepsticked worked as a talent on DPC leagues for the CIS and Southeast Asia.
I started working a lot as a talent. I'm working with Beyond the Summit, I worked at the DPC seasons in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. It certainly was very cool. It was my first real experience as a talent. It was interesting, and I want to keep doing it.
The girl ended up joining the broadcasting talents of the PGL Arlington Major 2022, the last major of the season. Alexandra once again performed at her best there. Thanks to Sheepsticked's hard work throughout the year, Valve invited her to participate in The International 11. Alexandra first worked on the regional qualifications for Europe and the CIS, and then on the TI itself.
Career-wise, Sheepsticked had a crazy year, not many people get to play in the year's main event twice in a row without any previous experience. Sheepsticked is one of the most successful talents of the past years. And the girl has no problem continuing to climb the career ladder, because she is very good at it.
Streamer Career
In addition to working as a talent and trying to make her way in cyber sports, Sheepsticked streams on Twitch. Usually Alexandra plays Dota 2, but she can also get passionate about streaming other games. Especially the ones that have just been released. At the moment, the girl has more than 45 thousand subscribers on Twitch. This is quite enough to be financially independent and do whatever she likes.
Streaming appeals to me most of all as a possible option of a proper job. I would like to pay more attention to it, but it doesn't always work out. If we're talking about a long-term career, having a successful streaming job is much more rewarding than having a talent job. It gives you more flexibility. Let's say that in five years, Dota 2 is going to die. Where do I go from there? Yes, I have experience working in front of the camera, but I don't know other games, I don't have enough expertise. But right now being a Dota 2 talent is much more profitable than just streaming.
Plans for the Future
At the moment Sheepsticked has three options: she can grow as a Dota 2 talent, get into cyber-sports or do some personal streaming. According to the girl, she doesn't know what she wants to do next. However, it is unlikely that she will give up one of these things in the near future. Alexandra intends to make steady progress in all three areas. But if this approach is justified in her talent work and streaming games, it won't be so easy to become a cyber-sportswoman. This will require a lot more time. It will be interesting to see what path Sheepsticked will eventually take, because she has a lot of opportunities.
