Taylor enters the game after defeating Francis Tiafoe 6-3, 6-4 in the Quarter-Final. Taylor had a 51% first serve, grabbing a 75% win on the first serve whereas a 68% win on the second serve. He had a 45-36 service points edge and a close 23:19 receiving points advantage, therefore, the game was closer than the final scoreline suggests. Fritz has overcome two tough match-ups before feisty Taifoe, beating Shapovalov and Isner. Fritz has become one of the best players in the world but saw his campaign end in the second round. He is currently the fifth-ranked player, having earned laurels through his great play even against elite players.

Paul and Fritz have played three times and Fritz has won two of these games. The last battle happened during ATP Miami where Fritz won in straight sets.

Tommy and Taylor have faced each other ever since they were junior players and this will be technically their seventh match-up outside of the ATP Main Draws in Senior legs. Fritz is a superb all-court player but he knows that taking Paul lightly is a lethal practice. I see this game going to a third set with Fritz winning in crunch time.
