Fabio Fognini vs Daniil Medvedev: A convincing win for Medvedev?

In the last 16 of the Olympic tennis tournament, world No. 31 Fabio Fognini will face world No. two, Daniil Medvedev. The men have played six times between them, +5-1 in favour of the Russian.

Fabio is a renowned clay tennis player, but he is not always good on grass and hard court. After the Wimbledon debacle, where Fognini crashed out after the third round against Rublev, the Italian, for some reason, flew to Sweden, where he played just one match in Bastide against Carballes Baena. The Russian is quite logically the favourite, especially considering that the tournament in Tokyo is played on hard court, which is quite a comfortable surface for Medvedev. I doubt that Fabio will be able to compete with Daniil. The levels of players are very different.
