Roman Safiullin vs Shang Juncheng Prediction: the Russian is a bit underrated

Shang reached the third round at the US Open, where he lost in five sets to world No. 9 Casper Ruud. Shan Shang knocked out Alexander Bublik and Spain's Carballes Baena before losing to the Norwegian. In Chengdu, the Chinese has one win, Shang beat once top tennis player, Japan's Nishikori 6:4, 6:4 in two sets. Shang had five aces and three double faults, won 79 per cent of his points on first serve and 45 per cent on second serve.

We think Safiullin is a bit underrated. The Russian did not play the best part of the season in the New World, but Roman has a lot of potential and he is definitely capable of beating the Chinese player. Moreover, Roman has not forgotten his defeat to Shang two years ago and will do his best to take revenge for that loss. Shang has the home court factor on his side, but we doubt that this factor is crucial for such an experienced tennis player as Roman.
