Corentin Moutet vs Andrey Rublev Prediction: the Fans Won't Help the Host

For the Frenchman, the tournament in Paris is the fifth clay one this season. Before that, Moutet had no success in Madrid, Rome, and Lyon, losing to Watanuki, Marozsán, and Barrere. In the first round of RG-2023, Moutet defeated No. 190, Cazaux in four sets, 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Moutet fired five doubles and made five double faults, winning 78% of his first-serve points and 63% of his second. Reception percentage: 28%/59%, winners/unforced errors 49/36.

Andrey's form is excellent as he won the Monte Carlo Masters and reached the final in Bania Luka but lost to Lajovic in three sets. After that, Rublev played well in Madrid and Rome, earning four wins and two losses. In the first RG round, Rublev confidently defeated Laslo Djere in four sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. The match lasted two and a half hours. Andrey made seven aces and one double fault, winning 77% of points on the first serve and 60% on the second. Receiving stats: 34%/55%, winners/unforced errors 37/24.

Almost everything in the upcoming game depends on the tonus and motivation of Andrey. He looks good on clay this season, winning the Monaco Masters and reaching the finals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Moutet is far from as good, being a bit wilted of late. The only thing that can be a plus for Moutet is the fans, but we wonder if, at this stage, Corenten will have much support. Rublev has an excellent chance to win and make it to the third round.
