The WTA betting scene is one of the most complicated as you never know when an unseeded player can end up sweeping the competition. This happened during the 2021 US Open when Emma Raducanu went on to win the competition as a Qualifier. Then we have a player who has all the talent in the world but a Grand Slam title remains distant for her. I am talking about Ons Jabeur here, who will meet Petra Kvitova, who has won two Grand Slam titles in her decorated career.

Kvitova keeps on testing the opponents to their brink and at 32, she still has a lot to offer. She comes into this game after defeating Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 6-3 in a game where she dominated both the serve and receiving game. Petra also did a great job in the first round after taking care of business against Jil Teichmann in a gruelling three-set affair where she nailed 8 Aces.
While Kvitova has not made a deep run for some time, she has still managed to go past a couple of rounds consistently and enters a tournament with great mojo. While she has lost some of her speed and athleticism over the years which is natural. This is also a woman who has survived a knife attack which surely affected her rhythm in both mental and physical capacity. She plays left-handed and is known for her power game.
Ons Jabeur
Ons is one of the well-known WTA players and she has been the number one Arab player of all time. She comes into the game after being tested big-time by Caty McNally, in a game that reached the deciding set where she won a close 9-7 affair in a tiebreaker situation. Jabeur disposed 9 Aces in that grueling game but was dominated in the second serve win% category where Caty had a 78-50% advantage.
Jabeur’s specialty is grass and unfortunately, games are far and few on that surface at this point. On clay also, she has displayed tremendous composure and that is because the slower surface aids her diverse game, which includes changing the pace, using volleys, slices, and various other tricks. These bags of tricks can somehow stop her from dominating at times as she can end up trying too much at a regular rate.
Petra Kvitova vs Ons Jabeur Head-to-Head
Kvitova and Ons have engaged in four matches thus far, where Petra has won three out of four games. They last met during Sydney Classic, where Kvitova won in two sets.
Expert Betting Tips
Ons’ record on Hard surfaces is lean compared to other surfaces, but it is still around 60% which means she can pose a significant threat even on a Hard setting. Kvitova’s record on Hard surfaces is still lean compared to other surfaces and that is also because she is not a busybody anymore and plays in selected tournaments. I’d back Ons here and believe she will be able to mix it up well but the game can go to the deciding set.
