The Guadalajara Open is in full swing and we will soon enter the Round of 32. The Draw has been amazing off-the-bat and we are seeing some amazing battles already. Let us see how the players respond as the Draw becomes only more intense. In this game, two heavyweights will clash as Paula Badosa takes on Victoria Azarenka.

Badosa enters the tournament as the top-seed but in terms of her WTA rankings, she has dropped. After being around the top-four ranks, Paula has now fallen to 8th rank as her returns have been slimmer. During the San Diego Open, she won her first game but lost to Danielle Collins in the Quarter-Finals. During the Ostrava and Japan Open, she lost in first round while her US Open campaign also ended early, in the second round. Therefore, the current period has been a tough one for the Spaniard who has been an elite player for a decent number of years.
Victoria Azarenka
Azarenka is nowhere near as effective as she was during her rank-one year in 2021. She has fallen from the rankings with each year since then and is now positioned at 37 which is surely a new low. This has been a tough year for Victoria Azarenka who has fallen early. She did win her first-round battle against Elina Avanesyan. She did a great job of breaking the serve but she will be tested against much more accomplished players than Elina. Apart from a fourth-round during US Open, Azarenka has left the scene in early rounds, often struggling to keep up against power hitters.
Paula Badosa vs Victoria Azarenka Head-to-Head
Azarenka and Badosa have met twice and their head-to-head is tied. They last met during the Adelaide Open earlier this year, where Azarenka won in two sets.
Expert Betting Tips
Paula is a superb athlete but her focus has been divided lately and she has looked a bit irritated at times. Azarenka is an experienced player but her reaction time has worsened and that has affected the results. It isn’t like Badosa is not in a top form, she is really struggling but she will have an edge here against Victoria. I back Badosa to win this one in two sets.
