Ons Jabeur - Aryna Sabalenka.
England, Wimbledon. 06.07.2021.
The world’s No.24 Ons Jabeur will face the current No. 4 of the WTA rankings, Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Ladies tournament. These girls have played against each other twice over the last year, with Jabeur beating Aryna at Roland Garros 2020 on their first game. In their second game, Sabalenka took revenge at the Abu Dhabi tournament.
Ons Jabeur current form
Jabeur started playing on the grass court in mid-June, at a tournament in Birmingham, where she won, beating Daria Kasatkina in the final in two sets. After Birmingham, Ons played two matches in Eastbourne and was stronger than Vondrusova, but lost to Jelena Ostapenko. At Wimbledon, Jabeur already has a decent record of victories. After defeating Peterson, Ons knocked out Venus Williams, Muguruza and Swiatek, three winners of Grand Slam tournaments. It should be noted that Jabeur's last two matches were 3-sets long, but Sabalenka had also two 3-sets matches at Wimbledon 2021.
Aryna Sabalenka current form
For Aryna, as well as for Ons, Wimbledon is the third grass-court tournament of the season. The only difference is that before the Majors Aryna did not play in Birmingham but in Berlin. The Berlin tournament was short-lived for the Belarusian, Sabalenka dropped out of it after the first game against Keys. In Eastbourne, Aryna had two victories over Pera and Risk but lost to Giorgi. At Wimbledon, Sabalenka was stronger than Niculescu, Boulter, and Osorio Serrano with Rybakina. Sabalenka ended up losing two sets, to Boulter and Rybakina. The match against the Kazakhstani tennis player lasted for an hour and 51 minutes with an unnecessary number of mistakes.
Betting and prediction
Ariya Sabalenka currently has better stats than Jabeur, after all, she is the fourth racket in the world. However, in they have tied 1 to 1 when playing each other. On grass court, however, Jabeur seems to be at least as good as Aryna as taking into account that she knocked Muguruza and Swiatek, which are two very strong contenders who were in the top 10 before Wimbledon 2021. We believe that Jabeur is underrated. We recommend the following bets: Jabeur to win for 2.20, TO (21.5) for 1.92, Jabeur to win 2-1 for 5.00.
