Miomir Kecmanovic will be nervous coming into the first round of the Paris Masters after being defeated 1-6, 0-6 by Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round in Basel.
But, with the exception of that one crushing setback, the Serbian has been in good form recently. He reached the semifinals in Napoli eight days ago and the quarterfinals in Tokyo earlier this month.
JKecmanovic has reached three semifinals this year and lost six times in the quarterfinals. As a result, he enters the tournament with a 38-25 season record. He has only won one match in his two previous outings at the Paris Masters, but he will be hoping for a stronger showing this time.
This year, he has already reached two ATP 1000 quarterfinals. One was in Indian Wells, while the other was in Miami.
Can the 2020 Kitzbuhel champion get off to a good start in Paris?
Cameron Norrie
13th in the world Norrie of Cameroon is two victories away from his second consecutive 50-win season. Last year, the Briton concluded with a 52-25 record, and he is 48-25 this year.
Norrie's standout achievements in 2022 included championship victories in Delray Beach and Lyon, as well as runner-up finishes in Acapulco and Los Cabos.
Norrie is competing in his third Paris Masters. He was eliminated in the first round on his debut and advanced to the third round in the previous tournament in 2021.
Norrie, who reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon this year, has one Masters 1000 title to his name, which he won last year in Indian Wells. He was recently a semifinalist in Cincinnati and reached the fourth round of the US Open, his best achievement.
He has not won consecutive matches in the most recent competitions. He had reached the quarterfinals in both Seoul and Stockholm, but had only won one match in both. He won the first round of the latest competition in Vienna but lost the second. Is he capable of going deep in Paris?
