Laura comes into the match after defeating Irina-Camelia Begu 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 in a thrilling Second Round battle. In the thrilling game, Laura had a 61-57 service points advantage while the receiving points were tied at 50 each. Caroline comes into the contest after defeating Leylah Fernandez 7-6, 7-5 which means that it took a tiebreaker for her to come on top. In that game, while Leylah had a great return game, pinching out a 32-23 advantage but Caroline brought her much heralded power game to the floor and nailed 11 Aces, which enabled her to eke out a 58:49 service points advantage. Caroline had an easy draw in the first round and managed to defeat Katherine Sobov in two sets where she took the second set without dropping a game. Last year, Caroline was on fire and even made it to the Final of the WTA Finals. Thus, she is one of the contenders for the title here.
