Jack Draper vs. Emil Ruusuvuori Predictions: Jack’s Recent Form is a Threat to Ruusuvuori

On Monday, August 29, World No. 44 Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland will face World No. 55 Jack Draper of the United Kingdom in the first round of the 2022 US Open.

This year, World No. 55 Jack Draper has put up some extremely outstanding performances. The 20-year-old British player, who will compete in the US Open for the first time, is 13-8 on the circuit in 2022.

He's coming off back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at the Canadian Open and the Winston-Salem Open, and he'll be one of the rising stars to keep an eye on at this year's event.

Draper, who reached the Eastbourne semifinals, defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas on his way to the Montreal quarterfinals earlier this month.

He most recently defeated Fabio Fognini and Dominic Thiem to reach the last eight at Winston Salem, where he was defeated in straight sets by Marc-Andrea Huesler.

The British left-hander, whose only two Grand Slam appearances came at Wimbledon, reached his first four Challenger finals this year and went undefeated. All four of those events were held on hard courts, where he has excelled this year.

Emil Ruusuvuori is a rapidly rising player on the tour, as seen by his consistent rise in the standings. Although he has dropped two spots from his July peak of No. 42, he will be eager for a strong U.S. Open campaign to help him climb back up the rankings.

Ruusuvuori has previously competed in the US Open, winning his opening round matches both times. He has failed to get past the second round, though. Is it possible that it will happen this year? Looks rough once more. In reality, he may struggle to win his opening round match since he has drawn a strong opponent in Jack Draper, who has had a tremendous year.

If Ruusuvuori passes the first round test, he might face sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, who has a qualifier in the first round.

For the time being, the 23-year-old will concentrate on his first-round encounter. He enters the competition with a season record of 26-23. By far the finest season for the Finn in terms of tour-level victories as well as his best ever performance. He reached his first ATP final earlier this year in Pune, but finished runner-up. He also advanced to the Melbourne semifinals and two other quarterfinals.

Ruusuvuori is the higher-ranked and more experienced of the two, but Draper's recent record favours him, and the Briton might beat the Finn in the opener.
