Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune vs. Andrey Rublev Prediction: Rublev Runs into Red-Hot Rune

On Thursday, November 3, Russia's seventh seed Andrey Rublev will face Denmark's Holger Rune in the third round of the 2022 Paris Masters.

18th in the world Holger Rune defeated 10th seed Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets to get to the third round of a Masters 1000 tournament for the first time.

The Pole was defeated 7-5, 6-1 in 66 minutes by the 19-year-old, who is making his Paris Masters debut. Hurkacz did not hold a single break point in the match, whilst Rune converted half of his eight break opportunities to advance to the round of 16.

Rune, who has been in excellent form recently, has previously reached the finals of three events. He won the championship in Stockholm but finished second in Sofia and Basel.

After losing all three of his previous matches against John Isner, world no. 9 Andrey Rublev upset the big-serving American in the second round of the Paris Masters to progress. The victory also secured the Russian a place in the year-ending ATP Finals in Turin.

Rublev did not face a break point during the match, but he broke the world no. 47 twice in the first set and once in the second to win 6-2, 6-3.

The Russian, who is in the third round for the second time in Paris, was outstanding on return, claiming 10 of 12 points on Isner's second serve.

Rune has been in excellent form recently and will undoubtedly pose a challenge to the Russian in the third round. Rublev is expected to beat the Dane in three sets.
