Elena Gabriela-Ruse vs Cori Gauff Prediction: Gauff comes in with an edge

The US Open is in full flow and we have quickly entered the Round of 64 even if a couple of contenders are out, a lot of young talent is still remaining on the scene to make sure that the tide changes soon. To proceed in the Grand Slam, Elena Gabriela-Ruse will take on Cori Gauff in the Second Round.

Elena comes into the second round after defeating Daria Seville 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in the first round. The Romanian has been engaged in a bunch of three set battles and she has come on the short side mostly during these scenes. Cori comes into the game after defeating Leolia Jeanjean 6-2, 6-3 in an unsurprising result. Gaff banged 8 Aces and had an incredible win% of 91. She didn’t allow Leolia to break her serve even once and scooped up an awesome 33-7 receiving points advantage. She won five games in a row at a point and it was a cakewalk for the incredible athlete overall. Gauff is playing on her home surface and she is one of the favorites for the title. Can she build something special here?

Cori and Elena last met during Wimbledon’s First Round where Gauff defeaatd Elena in three sets. This has been the only meeting between the two. 

Although Gauff enters with an obvious edge here, Elena’s play has been impressive this year and she isn’t an easy draw at all by any standards. Elena’s ability to engage in long affairs has served her well lately but Gauff likes to finish the business quickly mostly, however, it ain’t that easy in the WTA scene. Cori will be hungry to make a deep run and I think she will clasp momentum here after beating Elena, but in a stretched-out affair.
