Daniel Evans of Great Britain will play against Daniil Medvedev of Russia in the US Open round of 16. The players have never crossed paths, but Daniil is the big favorite for the game.
Dan Evans form
Before the start of the US Open, Evans' win-loss difference on the North American hardcourt in 2021 was 1-4. That means the Brit was unlikely to appear in the USO round 4. However, Evans made it this far on the bracket, and it was mostly due to lucky draw. Prior to his match against Medvedev, Evans faced Monteiro, Giron and Popyrin. In each match the British player lost at least one set, and against Popyrin he even lost two games, even with a tie-break in the 5th set. We believe that for Evans round of 16 of the USO is the limit.
Daniil Medvedev form
In the third round, Medvedev won Andújar to nil after thrashing him in the first game. Once again, minus handicap and total under paid off like in the previous games of Daniil against Gasquet and Koepfer. Medvedev continues to be one of the main favorites to win the American Majors, along with Djokovic and Zverev. If Medvedev wants to compete in crucial Majors matches, he has to beat Evans as soon as possible to maintain his strength and concentration.
Expert Betting Tips
Medvedev has yet to face Evans, which is more of a plus for the Briton. The first set is very likely to not be an easy one for the Russian, the main thing is to win it and feel confident of his strength in this match. It is safe to bet on Daniil to win, so the odds for the game are the following: TU 30.5 for 1.61, H2 (-8.5) for 1.80.
