The WTA Gualdajara Open has a superb Draw and we will be witnessing Grand Slam level action here for sure. This is also a crucial window for players that are looking to slate in a WTA Finals squad that will begin later this month. But before all of that, a lot of work remains and we are bound to see a bunch of upsets. Can Bernard Pera pull off an upset when she tackles the threat of Petra Kvitova.

Bernarda was unable to make it to the main rounds of the recently concluded San Diego Open after losing in the Qualifiers. Before that, she had lost in the first round of Ostrava Open against Petra Kvitova. In Tallinn Open and US Open too, she had lost in the first rounds so the going has been tough. Her last impressive run came during the Tennis in the Land tournament where she made it to the Semi-Finals and had beaten Barbora Krejcikova on the way.
Petra Kvitova
Petra last played in the loaded Ostrava Open where she defeated Paula Badosa and Bernarda Pera in the first two rounds but lost to Elena Rybakina in the Quarter-Finals. Before that, she had an impressive run in the US Open, reaching the Round of 16 where she lost to Jessica Pegula. Her most impressive run lately was in the Cincinnati Masters when she lost to Caroline Garcia in the Final after having beaten Madison Keys and Ons Jabeur on the way. Due to the current runs, she has made it to the 21st ranking.
Bernarda Pera vs Petra Kvitova Head-to-Head
This will be the second time these two will meet and they just met for the first time this month during the Ostrava Open. In that game, Kvitova won in three sets.
Expert Betting Tips
Kvitova is the obvious favorite here and she will be expected to make a deep run to at least end the season on a high. As for Pera, she has faced troubles against quality opponents in the first round but she has shown that she can make a decent run as she did in Cleveland earlier this year. However, her campaign is most likely to be short-lived again and I believe Pera will win this.
