Aslan Karatsev vs Sebastian Korda: Another revenge for Aslan?

In the first round of the final Masters of the year, Aslan Karatsev will face Sebastian Korda. The players know each other quite well, they played twice on the tour and both times Sebastian won. Let's see if the Russian can take revenge for those failures. 

After triumphing in Moscow, Aslan failed at the tournament in St.Petersburg. People even thought that Aslan bet against himself in the match against Millman, that’s how weak Karatsev looked in the game against the not-at-all-top Australian. Of course, it is not true, everybody has bad matches, and psychologically Aslan probably had no time to recover after his triumph in the Russian capital. Karatsev has had a whole week before Paris, which must have been enough for recovery.

Korda was not in Moscow, but we saw him in St.Petersburg. The American played only two games in that tournament, knocking out Serdarusic, but losing to van de Zandschulp who was then easily defeated by Marin Cilic. Overall, Korda didn’t show anything extraordinary in the northern Capital. Before that, Korda had failed tournaments in New York, San Diego and Indian Wells.

We believe that a lot in the upcoming game will depend on Karatsev. If Aslan plays like he did in the Kremlin Cup final, Korda will have no chance to win. If the Russian plays against the American at the same level as he did against Millman in St. Petersburg, we will not be surprised if the American makes it to the next round of the tournament in Paris. Aslan has lost twice to Sebastian in his career, there must be a desire for revenge. And Aslan did prove in Moscow that he can take revenge.
