Andy Murray vs Alexander Bublik: Can Murray spark a special performance?

We are well into the Stuggart Open and the Round of 16 will be dusted off soon as well. In this game, British tennis legend Andy Murray will take on Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik. Murray is in the limelight of his career, ranked in the late 60s in ATP whereas Bublik is way above him at the 42nd position.

There is no doubt that Andy Murray is in the closing saga of a decorated career. Surgeries related to groin and hip have slowed him down significantly but the Brit keeps on grinding his way. He doesn’t enter as a favorite anymore even when the tournament isn’t a major one and he has been now just traversing “Father Time”.

Murray won the first round match-up against Christopher O’ Connell 6:4, 6:3, But Bublik can pose multiple troubles to the veteran here. He will still be fancied due to his shining career though.

While Alexander isn’t among the heavyweights, he is a vibrant player who is carving his path and is still 24 years old. He is known for his strong serves. Unlike Murray, Alexander has an unorthodox style and can surprise with trick shots while catching the opponents off-guard with his underarm serves. He has drawn comparisons to Nick Kyrgios.

Alexander beat Denis Kudla 7:6, 7:5 in a grueling game, and Kudla is ranked among the late 70s players. It will be interesting to see if he will catch Andy off-guard here.

An old-timer with the ability to put on big exchanges in Murray and Bublik’s trickery can pay off against a much-slower Murray. The bookmakers have been not giving a clear-cut edge to anyone in this match-up. Murray’s reputation against Bublik’s emerging game, this can be a hot contest!
