Aljaz Bedene’s Last US Open

Aljaz Bedene will play his final US Open match this week before retiring during his country's Davis Cup clash next month. It's been a solid career for the Slovene, who has played for two nations, but now it's time to put on another strong display for the US Open fans.

It will be difficult since he is up against a guy who has played significantly more tennis this year than he has and has looked far better. Cachin isn't a better player on hard courts, but with retirement so close, you have to doubt Bedene's dedication.

His most recent bout was at Umag, where he was defeated by Lorenzo Musetti. That happened on May 25th, which was roughly three months ago. It's not a good start, and coming from clay doesn't help.

He is 4-13 on the season, which speaks louder than words.

.

Pedro Cachin’s Decent Chance

Cachin was fortunate to get Bedene in round one since it provides him a solid chance to win and advance. So far, the Argentine has had a fantastic year, winning 50 and losing 15. However, with only four matches played on surfaces other than clay, his choice appears to be rather evident.

Cachin is still a pro, he can play terrific tennis on hard courts, and he is absolutely capable of defeating Bedene, who is only a few weeks away from being a football executive. He didn't even play a hard court to prepare for this grand slam, but he recently won a title on clay, so his form is strong.

His game is traditional clay, which is his biggest disadvantage when it comes to playing on hard courts, especially quick hard courts, but I have no hesitation in endorsing him here.

It's simply a wonderful opportunity for him to win.

Expert Betting Tips

As previously stated, Bedene's motive is a major concern in this case. He can win this battle if he pushes hard enough, but I believe Cachin is in superior form.

He's lately played, and he appears to be at ease with his game. Even if it takes five sets, it feels like enough to win.
