Yuan Sijun – The Chinese Miracle Player

Yuan, who is just shy of his 19th birthday, showed tremendous strides in the 2018/19 season. Commentators Jimmy White, Ronnie O'Sullivan, and Stephen Hendry praised him, calling him "one of the finest kids since the likes of Ding Junhui, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Williams, or John Higgins."

Yuan was defeated 6–5 on the last black in the International Championship by Shaun Murphy after achieving 8 breaks of 50. This contributed to a drop in form, with only one appearance in the last 16 of the Northern Ireland Open.

Yuan's most significant success this season would be getting to the third round of the Northern Ireland Open, defeating fellow countryman Luo Honghao and Tom Ford, and finally falling 4–0 to Ding Junhui at the end of 2020.

.

Ross Muir – The Scottish Professional

Muir reached the final 16 of the 2018 European Masters, defeating Martin Gould 4–2, Lee Walker 4–2, and Gary Wilson 4–2 before falling to Mark Allen 4–3. Muir disclosed he suffers from Retinal migraines after defeating reigning champion Neil Robertson 4–2 in the second round of the 2018 Scottish Open.

After retiring at the end of the 2018/2019 season, he returned and raced in several of the second-tier Challenge Tour events. Muir, now an amateur, was entitled to compete in the 2020 European Masters but was defeated in the first round of qualification by Kurt Maflin, 5–2. Muir qualified for the semi-finals of the 2020 WSF World Championship in Malta and the EBSA European Championship in Portugal.
