Mark Selby vs Long Zehuang Prediction: Selby has to do better

Leicester Arena will host the Wuhan Open qualification encounter between Mark Selby and Long Zehuang. Who will make it to the next round of this competition?

Mark Selby's last match was in the Shanghai Masters, where he played Shaun Murphy, losing 8-10. However, their prior games saw Mark Selby defeat Junxu Pang and Cao Jin in that same tournament in the early stages, winning 3-6 and 6-1, respectively. In the meantime, it is worth noting that Mark Selby has a 2-4 record, losing to Luca Brecel, Gary Wilson, and Joe O'Connor in that run of games prior to this. 

Long Zehuang come into this game with no win in his last four matches. In his most recent game in the World Grand Prix qualifier, Long Zehuang lost to Gary Wilson in a 5-4 encounter. However, the prior games to that defeat were in the Championship League third stage. Long Zehuang lost to David Lillet, Jackson Page, and David Gilbert in those matches. In the meantime, it is worth noting that Long Zehuang won two consecutive matches before that winless run.

Long Zehuang has not been too good to me despite many of his recent matches not ending in defeat. While Mark Selby comes into this game as a favorite, his recent performances have been below par. Regardless, Mark Selby's experience will go a long way in this game, and a good margin win for him is worth prioritizing.
