Dean Young is a 20-year-old professional snooker player from Scotland. He won the U-21 Scotland National Snooker Championship in 2018 and 2019, both times defeating Aaron Graham. Young won Q-School - Event 3 in June 2021, defeating Florian Nüßle and Mitchell Mann before defeating Haydon Pinhey 4–1 in the final round to gain a two-year World Snooker Tour card 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 seasons. He was the sole rookie from Q-School that year.
Stuart Carrington – An Experienced Player in the Tournament
Stuart Carrington is a professional snooker player from England. In Grimsby, he regularly works alongside Steven Hallworth and Ian Glover. Carrington qualified for the 2011–12 professional Main Tour as one of four semi-finalists in the third and final Q School tournament in May 2011.
Carrington defeated Sam Craigie 4–2, Wang Yuchen 4–2, Robin Hull 4–0, and Igor Figueiredo 4–1 to reach his first ranking tournament quarter-final, where he fell 4–0 against Stuart Bingham. Carrington fought to take a one-frame lead but dropped a lengthy eighth frame to fall 5–3. The second session was not as good as the first, with Liang winning 10–7.
