St. George Illawarra Dragons vs. Cronulla Sharks: Dragons Comeback With Some Major Changes

The first round three game is jam-packed with interesting storylines, and WIN Stadium is likely to come alive as Fityz's Sharks and Anthony Griffin's Dragons battle for their second win of the season.

Craig Fitzgibbon was a St George Illawarra squad member that reached the grand final in their inaugural season in 1999. He'll be plotting the Red V's demise at a place he once called home 23 years later.

The Dragons followed up an excellent opening win against the Warriors with a gritty showing against the premiers, succumbing 20-16 at Netstrata Jubilee.

Hooker Andrew McCullough (elbow) will miss the local derby, with veteran utility Moses Mbye taking his place. The newcomers on the bench are Jackson Ford and Jack Gosiewski. The squad has not changed in the 24-hour update.

The Sharks have played in two nail-biters, losing at the finish to Canberra in round one and then winning in the final minute against the Eels in round two.

Ronaldo Mulitalo (head knock) is replaced on the wing by Matt Ikuvalu, and Siosifa Talakai will start in place of Teig Wilton (suspended). Braydon Trindall joins the bench after serving a two-game suspension for a high tackle during the trials. The squad has not changed in the 24-hour update.

The Sharks have scored 37 points in their first two games, with superb offloads accounting for most of their offense. Their offload total stands at 23, compared to the Dragons' 13 offloads. Cronulla's offloading leaders are center Jesse Ramien and halfback Nicho Hynes, who each have four. Both teams are in their best form, and it won’t be easy to judge who’ll play better. Our bets are on Sharks, though!
