New South Wales Waratah vs. Fijian Drua: The First Game Amongst the Two

New South Wales Waratah and Fijian Drua will oppose each other in a match on 18 February 2022 at the Allianz Stadium, Sydney, Australia. It is their first head-to-head, and both the teams will be at their best performance to wave the flag of victory. 

Waratahs haven’t had a victory to celebrate during the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman in the past year. However, in the year before that, 5 matches were played by the team in the 2022 Super Rugby AU, out of which they won 3, starting from Melbourne Rebels 38-32. In the tournament's 3rd and 4th match, they defeated Western Force 28-8 and Queensland Reds 45-12. Both of these successes were gained with a great winning margin. The Squad might not have been at the top of their game recently, but their last 3 losses were quite close to the winning score like the ones against Brumbies 24-22 and Western Force 31-30. The team is hopeful about learning from their experience and finally getting back on the winning track to finally break the chain of defeat.

Fijian Drua has a list of victories, but they haven’t played any tournaments in the past 2 years. The team had a winning streak from winning 6 matches in a row in the 2018 National Rugby Championship. In the 2019 Championship, played 6 games and tasted victory in 3 against Queensland Country 26-24, Melbourne Rising 40-36, and North Harbour Rays 76-29. The team is undoubtedly a strong opponent, but their break might not work in their favor. This is the first time Fijian Drua and the Waratahs will have a face-off, and the game can lead its way in any direction. Hence, both teams need to be prepared in case of tough circumstances.
