Leicester Tigers vs. ASM Clermont Auvergne. Can Clermont Beat Tigers After All These Years?

Leicester and Clermont are ready to compete once again in the Champions Cup this weekend at Welford Road Stadium. Last weekend was a lucky one for the Tigers, and the squad will be keen to witness similar circumstances in the upcoming game. 

Leicester has been doing pretty well recently. Last month, of the four tournaments the team competed in, they were victorious in 3 with a significant margin, against London Irish 47-28 and 41-26, Exeter Chiefs 22-17. Moreover, the squad dominated their last game against Clermont 29-10 the previous week in the Champions Cup. Before which, the last head-to-head they had won was in 2011, and their recent victory can be a sign of a challenging game ahead.

The last game Clermont played was the one they lost to their upcoming opponents, the Tigers. Clermont currently has four wins in hand in the past two months, against Arlequins 52-12, Lyon Olympique 25-16, Union Bordeaux 29-26, and CA Brive 41-10. Clermont and Tigers are currently tied over the head-to-head wins, but Clermont’s last win was quite a while ago. The team will have to be pretty prepared to get back at the Tigers and avenge their previous loss.
