Reds would be missing their two regular players, which would be an advantage favoring the Hurricanes. James O’Connor and fullback Jordan Petaia’s presence would have impacted the game, favoring the Reds.

With two main players back in the hut for Reds, Hurricanes would be looking to seize the opportunity and register a win. Their most convincing win of the season came against Highlanders as they kept themselves calm and won by the slightest margin of 1 point. Hurricanes also defeated Moana Pasifika (53-12). Hurricanes would be looking to carry their two matching winning streak for the upcoming duel and give the Reds a tough fight.
