Italy (W) vs Turkey (W) Prediction: the Italians Are on the Roll

Prediction for the Summer Olympic Games volleyball match between Italy vs Turkey, which will take place on August 4th. Who will turn out to be stronger? Check the team conditions! Several betting options are available.

In May, the Italians beat Turkey in the Nations League, and the Blue Squadron didn't have Sylla or Egonu. The Turks, on the other hand, played with their usual starting lineup. Julio Velasco's team lost to their opponents on the block (9:13), but they beat them with their serve (10:2 on their side). As it is now at the Olympics, Turkey's reception was not great, which Italy took advantage of. They are simply the better team, although in Paris against the Netherlands, Velasco sat Caterina Bosetti and released Giovannini, who isn't the most effective offensive player. Antropova did a great job even without her. Overall, a sharp serve, decent own reception, and Turkey's generally ineffective serve gave Italy a noticeable edge. 

Last season, Vargas in the second zone and Karakurt in the fourth zone were a real handful for all opponents. It looks like Ebrar got exhausted in Kaliningrad, so she's helping the opposing team score as many points as her own. Her replacement, Meliha Ismailoglu, has never been able to score at all. Her job is to receive and defend. As it turns out, only Hande Baladin works hard in the fourth zone, and she's having a tough time. Melissa Vargas is up against an even bigger challenge. Because of the poor reception, two out of three passes to her were basically emergency. The 11 offensive points given to the Netherlands weren't Melissa's mistakes but her teammates' inability to receive properly.

The Netherlands outscored the Turks on the block 15-8. It's thought that thanks to Italy's sharp serve, poor reception, and the Turks' disorganized attacks, Velasco's team's advantage on the block will also be noticeable.
