Tom Aspinall vs Marcin Tybura Prediction: Miss Match For the Briton

UFC Fight Night 224 will kick off in London on the evening of July 22nd. Tom Aspinall will share the octagon with Marcin Tybura in the main event. The fight will take place in the heavyweight category. At the same time, the Briton occupies the fifth position in the UFC heavyweight division rankings, while the Pole is tenth.

Aspinall appeared in the UFC in 2020 and after two inconspicuous victories (however, both by knockout) caused loud talk about himself. Moreover, he cruelly dealt with the fighters from the former Soviet Union, so he's been studied well.

Tom completely unexpectedly and somehow quickly strangled Arlovski, while Andrei was also given chances before the fight, and no one could assume that he would be strangled. Then it was the turn of Sergey Spivak and Alexander Volkov, whom Aspinall finished in the first round both.

He was already the main contender for the title fight. It remained to defeat Curtis Blades, as Aspinall was the favorite before the bout. But there was a misfortune - at the fifteenth second, after an unsuccessful low-kick, Tom got a leg injury and was out for a year. Now he is back to fighting at home. 

Marcin Tybura has never been considered a top fighter or high in the rankings, but look at his record - in his last eight fights, he has lost only once. It's weird, isn't it? Moreover, he failed to Alexander Volkov but destroyed the rest of the Russian-speaking rivals just as Aspinall without much trouble - Spivak, Maxim Grishin, Alexander Romanov.

After the loss to Volkov, Tybura won two bouts in a row and coincidentally got the right to fight in the main event of the tournament.

It's been a long time since Tybura has met fighters of such a high class, the only exception being Volkov. Determining what aspect of the fight the Pole will win is difficult. It should only be lucky-punch because Aspinall is better overall.

It's much more interesting to look at the total. Tom usually wins in the first round. Tybura can theoretically drag out the fight, but the chance is slim. There is a strong suspicion that he will make a mistake, especially since Aspinall will be as eager as ever - the first fight after the injury in front of his home crowd.
