Magomed Umalatov hasn't fought in Russia much, so he's not well-known to the home fans. But in April of this year, he confidently dismantled Andrey Koreshkov, which got much attention. It turns out he's a fighter with no losses, one of the top picks in the US league, and he's still even advancing.
Magomed has been in the PFL since 2021. He's beaten everyone he's been given the chance to fight, but he hasn't fought for the title yet. There were reasons unrelated to the sport that stopped him from doing so. As expected, he made it to the finals this year, defeating Brennan Ward and Neiman Gracie as well.
Shamil Musaev
Like Magomed Umalatov, Shamil Musaev isn't chasing worldwide fame. He says a title and a million will be enough to satisfy his ego. He hasn't lost either. Musaev's only draw happened in the KSW league. By the way, if he hadn't been taken off for grabbing the net, he would have won there too. The audience remembers Shamil for being the first to knock out Alexey Kunchenko.
This is Musayev's first season in the PFL, and he's made it to the finals, having beaten Logan Storley (by knockout) and Murad Ramazanov twice already.
Expert Betting Tips
Shamil Musaev seems to have more versatility in his fighting style and looks better on his feet. After all, the striking technique is his base. His issue is that Magomed Umalatov is very good at beating punchers, as he demonstrated in his bout with Koreshkov. He'll make the fight last into the late rounds, involving his opponent in clinches and on the ground, and the winner will be the one who's better prepared physically.
