Liana Jojua vs Cortney Casey: The American will continue to lose

Another UFC Fight Night event will take place on the night of November 13 in Las Vegas. One of the preliminary card fights will face Liana Jojua and Cortney Casey.

The bout will take place in the women’s flyweight matchup. Neither fighter is in the top 15 of the official UFC challenger rankings.

It just so happens that fights involving Liana Jojua rarely make it to the judges’ decision (12 fights - 10 early finishes, with seven wins and three losses). This fight is the fourth under contract with the UFC (two losses and one win), and Liana needs to win. Otherwise, there may not be the next offer.

Liana lost to Miranda Maverick (14-3) in her previous fight by TKO (doctor stoppage) in the first round. Both fighters traded blows in the clinch. Both had their moments, but towards the end of the round, Maverick landed a hard elbow to the body, which caused Jojua to bleed profusely from a nose job. After that, the advantage in the round went to Miranda. At half-time after the first round, the doctor examined Liana’s injury and decided to stop the fight.

All in all, because of that, her record got screwed up. But I’ve always believed that the record doesn’t mean anything.

Cortney lost her last two fights. In her fight against Aldrich, she threw 121 punches, only 55 of which were landed. Also earlier, in her fight against Robertson, she had 113 shots, only 22 of which were accentuated.

Indeed, her UFC stats are more depressing than pleasing, and the fact that she’s still on the roster probably only speaks to the shortage of fighters. She has eight losses and five wins in the world’s strongest league and has only won once in her last four fights.

Predicting this fight is quite difficult, but we can assume that the girls will prefer to fight on their feet, and the more accurate one will win. The American has been having trouble with her accuracy lately, while Jojua has been doing great with her character. That’s why the Georgian player is my favourite.

If Casey gets her face kicked and then moves to the ground in the fight, it will be boring. The American has a belt in BJJ, but Liana has also learned wrestling and has repeatedly proved that she is good there. She will be able to defend herself and even more.
