Ciryl Gane entered the UFC in 2019 (after only three professional MMA fights in a scrappy Canadian league) and immediately impressed everyone with his light technique for a heavyweight. He moved well, punched hard and his footwork looked more like a middleweight.
After winning seven straight fights and taking the interim belt, Ciryl went on to face Francis Ngannou for the title. None of the experts had predicted the outcome of this fight. Ngannou defeated Gane by wrestling, which was a huge revelation for everyone.
After that failure, the Frenchman knocked out Tai Tuivasa to get another shot at the belt.
Sergey Spivak
Serhiy Spivak also appeared in the UFC in 2019, but he had more experience before that - a few more fights, a Ukrainian WWFC league title and the number zero in the defeat column. Spivak usually defeats his opponents with wrestling. He has excellent skills in the parterre and even when he's on top he usually doesn't look for a sub-match. He just pounds his opponent like you-know-who.
He has lost, too, but he has won his last three fights. He has done so very quickly - in his last fight. For example, the Black Beast Derrick Lewis lasted exactly three minutes against Sergey.
Expert Betting Tips
We don't think this fight will last long. Spivak will be looking for a knockdown from the very first seconds. He will certainly threaten and at the slightest opportunity he will make the move. If he manages to take the fight to the floor, Ciryl Gane will have hard times.
But catching the Frenchman by the legs is quite dangerous, he can be caught very easily. Gane is quite skillful in such situations. Pressing him against the net is a viable option, but one runs the risk of getting hit in the liver or in the knee. So there are options, but the probability of someone finishing another one is very high.
