Amanda Ribas has been in the UFC for a long time, but she hasn't reached great heights yet. And there are big doubts that she will - for the last three years, she has been alternating wins and losses, losing to more or less strong opposition.
But in her last fight, Ribas surprised so much - she shocked Luana Pinheiro (11-1 record at the time) with an incredibly beautiful and amplitude roundhouse kick and then beat her hard on the ground.
And that bright victory, apparently, inspired even more confidence in Amanda. Now, she is looking forward to her fight with the former champion and promises to knock her out, too.
Rose Namajunas
Rose Namajunas is one of the most popular female fighters in the UFC, a former champion with a huge fan base. She won the women's strawweight belt twice and lost it most recently in 2022 in a very close fight against Carla Esparza (a split decision loss). That said, Namajunas has had some of the toughest opposition in the UFC in recent years, as she faced Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade, and Zhang Weili.
In her previous fight, she lost on points to Manon Fiorot while finishing the fight with an injury.
Expert Betting Tips
Those experts who are betting on Ribas offer two facts as arguments - Namajunas' regular mental problems and her ndecisiveness in the new, heavier, division. That may be true, but everything else is more than enough for the former champion to win. Rose will obviously keep beating her opponent in the stand-up, and will do so until Ribas decides to take the fight to the canvas. Amanda is still more interested in the fight, but she will definitely not be able to finish her opponent there.
