Amanda Lemos vs Jessica Andrade: No chance for Lemos

Another UFC Fight Night event will take place in Las Vegas on April 24. Two Brazilian women, Amanda Lemos and Jessica Andrade will meet in the main event of the evening.

The bout will take place in the women's strawweight division. Amanda Lemos is ranked tenth in the official UFC challenger rankings for her division, while Jessica Andrade is ranked first. According to bookmakers' betting odds, Andrade is the favorite to win this fight.

Lemos has only suffered one defeat in her entire career, in her debut fight in the UFC, by the way. She has since scored five consecutive victories, but there has been no truly top opposition among her opponents.

In her last fight, Lemos faced Angela Hill, who is more or less known in the martial arts world. Hill entered the bout on short notice and the judges in that encounter gave Lemos the win by split decision. At the same time, the American press called this decision the robbery of the century. The whole fight Angela was beating her opponent in the clinch, while the latter was saving her in the clinch all the way and hitting her with punches much less frequently.

And for all that, Amanda Lemos' strong point is considered to be in the stand-up position because she is not very good on the ground.

Jessica Andrade lost the title in 2019, but she hasn't gotten any weaker since then. She's only lost to incredibly strong fighters (Zhang Weili, Rose Namajunas, and Valentina Shevchenko). Andrade handles the rest with ease, her last two wins coming in the first round, by knockout.

No matter what anyone says, these are fighters from different leagues. Lemos doesn't even come close to being a fighter capable of beating Andrade, she's worse in every component. Jessica only needs this fight to put another plus one on her way to a title shot.

Analysts have been even more modest with the odds. Thus, the odds on Andrade's win are offered at 1.48, while the odds on Lemos' win are 2.66.
