Alexey Oleynik vs Fernando Rodriguez Jr Prediction: Victory Will Come Early

On December 15th, a big tournament, RCC 17, will be held in Ekaterinburg, with the main fight being Shlemenko vs Ilic 2. The co-main event will be a confrontation between the legendary Alexey Boa Constrictor Oleynikand Brazilian kickboxer Fernando Rodriguez. Oleynik should have had a rematch with Oli Thompson, but the Briton faced visa troubles and will be replaced by Fernando Rodriguez, who has been fighting exclusively in Russia lately.

Oleynik's contributions to the sport are immense. The 46-year-old fighter has an incredible 78 (!) fights. He has been competing in the UFC for the past ten years, ranked very high in the heavyweight division. His last bout in the UFC happened in the fall of 2022 after four losses in five fights. Age takes its toll, but Oleynik does not plan to put a period to the sport. But his adventures in Russia started unsuccessfully. In May, at the REN TV Fight Club, Oleynik came as a big favorite against Oli Thompson and was suddenly knocked out in the first round. We don't know what it was - loss of conditioning, lack of preparation, underestimation of the opponent, or the actual state of affairs - but now we await every fight of Alexey with anxiety. Then, in August, Oleynik made his boxing debut and knocked out Tagir Dzoblaev, a mixed martial arts fighter, in the first minute.

I like everything about him - a big young boar, all tattooed, handsome, and so on. I like everything except that I've already trained with him at ATT. And I don't want to fight anybody I trained with there. 90% of them have asked me how they should defend themselves against jiu-jitsu. I have always shared with everyone with absolute sincerity and honesty. I'm in really good shape, I really want to fight. What happened with Oli Thompson? Honestly, I don't know. I don't want to find out.

Fernando Rodriguez is a former KSW champion and a titled kickboxer. Currently, he is doing worse than ever in this format - in his last eight bouts, he has only two victories. On top of that, the Brazilian lost to Vladimir Mineev under kickboxing rules last November and a loss to Carlos Felipe at Bare Knuckle FC. The only bright moments in the same Russian period were two wins over Gadzhi Assault Rifle Navruzov in REN TV Fight Club. And the second one can't be counted, as Navruzov was injured early in the fight.

Either Oleynik will manage to choke Rodriguez quickly, or he won't and get knocked out. It would be pure suicide for Alexey to fight this kickboxer in the standing. We don't think the fight will last long.
