Washington vs Toronto Prediction: the Maple Leafs to Fight Hard in Washington

Last game, Washington's five-game winning streak ended. They faced Dallas at home and lost by one goal (1-2). Before that, the Capitals beat Chicago (7-3), Winnipeg (5-2), Seattle (4-1), Philadelphia (4-1), and Edmonton (3-2). Thus, the Capitals reached the top 10 of the Eastern Conference with 34 points. Also, they are one point behind making the Metropolitan Division playoffs. 

Toronto is close to the lead in the East, but Boston does not think so. At the moment, the difference between the rivals is four points, which is possible to overcome, given that the Bruins have frequently been misfiring lately. In the last game, however, the Maple Leafs failed to earn two points. They lost on the road to the Rangers with a score of 1-3. Two games earlier, Toronto defeated Calgary (5-4) and Anaheim, scoring seven unanswered goals.

Toronto comes into the game as the favorite, which is not surprising. The Maple Leafs are showing consistent hockey. They have been winning almost from the beginning of the season, while Washington is now gaining form. The Capitals' home matches are far from perfect, with seven straight wins in 14 games. The Leafs will be stronger, but those two points will be complicated to gain.
