The Chicago Blackhawks begin the season with an away doubleheader against Colorado and Vegas. Do the Hawks have no chance of scoring even one point in these games? Let's pick a few bets.

Last season, the Golden Knights under Peter DeBoer hit rock bottom, failing to make the playoffs. Now the team is led by Bruce Cassidy, the former Boston coach. He has a very good outlook for Vegas. The first game showed that. The Knights outscored a tough Los Angeles 4-3 on the road. They scored the winning goal late in the game, but still had a big lead. What else could it be? With the roster that Vegas has, the team should reach at least the final of the conference.

Just when it looked like the Blackhawks were starting to climb out of the bottom, as they once again decided to go with a lineup rebuild, giving up DeBrincat, Kubalik, and Kirby Dach, among others. It looks like Kane and Toews will be leaving the organization soon, too. It's a shame that one of the most successful teams of the 21st century couldn't get back on a winning track.
