Tampa Bay Lightning vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction: No success for Oilers

Edmonton has a tough back-to-back. After the game against Washington, the team will play Tampa Bay. Will the Oilers be able to withstand such a tough test?

Tampa Bay's recent games show that the most successful hockey organization of recent years plans to remain so this season. In their previous eight games, Jon Cooper's team has six wins and only one loss in regulation time, away from Los Angeles. Overall, the Lightning now have seven wins in 12 games in the new league. The team is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Before the game with Washington, Edmonton lost twice in a row. First, the Oilers failed to defeat New Jersey (3-4) at home. Then, also at home, they crushingly lost 2-6 to Dallas. Not the most successful mini-streak, although overall the start of the championship is going well for the Oilers – 7 wins in 12 games and the 6th place in the Western Conference table.

Tampa Bay has been showing champion hockey again lately, so Edmonton doesn't have much of a chance to succeed in the upcoming game. Moreover, the Oilers have a back-to-back after a very tough game against Washington. No matter how it ends, Edmonton is unlikely to score points against the Lightning.
