San Jose Sharks vs Seattle Kraken Prediction: Don’t expect a productive match

For Seattle, the current regular season is going with mixed success. Things started poorly for the Krakens, losing many points, but by mid-December, they picked up an impressive momentum with a 9-match winning streak. This stretch allowed them to interfere in the fight for cup eight, but problems started forming again. They were left without points in games with Pittsburgh - 0:3, Rangers - 2:5, Edmonton - 2:4, and Toronto - 1:3. Only after that the losing streak was interrupted when the team beat Chicago - 6:2, lost in overtime to St. Louis - 3:4, and the day before was stronger than Columbus - 4:2, climbing to tenth place in the Western Conference standings.

Seattle unstably spends the current regular season, but their chances to get into the playoffs are still very decent. Therefore, they must continue gaining points in battles with the league's middlers and outsiders. San Jose is the perfect opponent to do that. It's all about the fact that the Sharks occupy the penultimate place in the Western Conference standings, and in the history of face-to-face confrontation, the Californians have won only two of eight head-to-head meetings.

The confrontation between San Jose and Seattle is not characterized by high-goal activity. In those eight head-to-head meetings played between these rivals, there were only 43 shots on goal (5.38 per game on average), which is a very modest figure by NHL standards. Moreover, the Californians recorded only 17 shots on goal (2.13 average per game).
