San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction: expect a total over

San Jose became the weakest team at the end of last season. For one win, the Sharks had about three losses, so they had only 47 points in 82 games, the worst of any team in the NHL, including the Eastern Conference. Of course, after such a failure, the management threw David Quinn away, and in his place appointed Ryan Warsofsky. Under his leadership, San Jose had a rather dismal first preseason game, losing to Vegas 2:4.

Anaheim was also on the level of a clear underdog last season. They did a little better than San Jose, but through 82 games, the Ducks had 59 points, seven less than last-place Columbus in the East. Two clear outsiders meet. We doubt that the team managers will be able to set up games in the preseason in such a way that San Jose and Anaheim will fight for a playoff spot. They will be competing for the penultimate spots, as nothing interesting or compelling has happened in the teams' lineups over the break.
