Despite this setback, the Black-and-Yellow started the current regular season very briskly. In the three opening games, they beat Chicago 3:1, Nashville 3:2, and San Jose 3:1 the day before.

Los Angeles, in recent years, has turned into a solid average NHLer, which, without much trouble, beats the league's middles and outsiders but, in battles with top-level opponents, often has problems. In the debut of the current season, we are convinced of this, as the Californians beat Minnesota and Winnipeg but failed to cope with Colorado and Carolina. Now the Kings face a battle with the formidable Boston, who are showing almost flawless results in the regular season for the second year and won three straight in the opening period of the current championship.

In the past regular season, Boston not only scored the most points but also conceded the fewest pucks, distinguished by excellent defense. In 82 games, they conceded only 177 times (2.16 average per game) - a phenomenally high-quality indicator. In the debut of the current season, the Bears are also playing exceptionally pragmatically, and that's why a total of only 13 goal takedowns (4.33 average per game) took place in the three games with their participation.
