Edmonton Oilers vs St. Louis Blues Prediction: Blues won’t lose in a high-scoring game

Edmonton is coming off a big win over Carolina (6-4) and will now take on St. Louis. Will the Blues be able to stop the Oilers? Let's pick a few bets at once.

Against Carolina, the Oilers played another very poor game defensively, but this time they managed to make up for it with their offensive play. The Hurricanes lost 6-4, despite Svechnikov's first career hat trick, and Edmonton had Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each posting a 1+3 goal and assist. In this particular game, Edmonton's obvious playmaking imbalance had no impact on the outcome. But the Oilers have only two wins in four games. 

Unlike Edmonton, Craig Berube's team played only 2 games in the new season. But both times they won. First, St. Louis defeated Columbus (5-2) at home, then they beat Seattle 4-3 (3-3) in overtime on the road. Quite a start for a team that again can be ranked among the top favorites in the Western Conference.

There is great doubt that Edmonton will be able to avoid trouble for the second game in a row because of its playing imbalance. St. Louis is a team that can both effectively exploit their opponent's defensive problems and stop their super offense. At the very least, you can definitely bet on the Blues not losing in regulation time here. In addition, there's reason to believe that the meeting will be productive – there's no other way for today's Edmonton to do it.
