Colorado is the reigning Stanley Cup champion. Last NHL season, the Avalanche showed insane form and aggressive play, which led them to the championship. They finished in first place in the Western Conference standings win the regular season with 119 points. In the playoffs, the Avalanche made themselves as confident as possible. First, they overcame Nashville (4:0 in the series), then had a slight problem with St. Louis (4:2), but in the next stage, Colorado easily beat Edmonton (4:0). In the Stanley Cup final, they beat Tampa Bay 2:1 in the sixth game.

Colorado played six games in the preseason and can't be said to have been successful. The reigning champion registered three wins (3:1 over Vegas, 3:1 and 2:1 over Dallas) and three losses - two to Minnesota (2:3 and 2:5) and 1:7 to Vegas.

Last season Chicago had better forget and never look back. The team played mixed hockey and finished 14th place in the Western standings and last in the Central Division with only 68 points. Of course, the Indians plan to make amends for such terrible results in the past in the coming season, but judging by their play in the preseason, that should not be expected. The Blackhawks are coming into their game against Colorado after four straight losses (0:3 to Detroit, 0:3 and 1:4 to Minnesota, and 0:6 to St. Louis).

In the upcoming game, Chicago doesn't stand a chance of even a single point. The Indians are in awful condition to play the reigning Stanley Cup winner. Colorado didn't have the best preseason preparation, but the Blackhawks have a noticeably worse record, losing their last four games by a margin of three pucks. In our opinion, the Avalanche will easily score two points.
