Led by coach Brad Larsen, the Blue Jackets played some exciting offensive hockey and didn't make the playoffs, but they came close. Perhaps Columbus can count on the postseason this time around. Or maybe they can even surprise there as well. Especially for the Blue Jackets, Johnny Gaudreau, one of the best forwards in the modern NHL, will now play for Ohio from Calgary.

Columbus now has not only Patrik Laine but also Johnny Gaudreau, who looks like an excellent team before the start of the season. It's far from certain that Brad Larsen's team will be able to count on even one point - after all, the Hurricanes have become one of the NHL's strongest teams in recent years. But the Hornets are undoubtedly capable of scoring a couple of goals.
