Boston vs Los Angeles Prediction: the Bruins to Prove the Status

The Bruins have captured the lead in the Eastern Conference since the start of the championship, and they are still the strongest. On the eve of the meeting with Los Angeles, Jim Montgomery's team won several more landmark victories. Boston lost to Arizona (3-4) but defeated two of the Western Conference favorites, Vegas (3-1) and Colorado (4-0). Also, they bested one of their top eastern rivals, New York Islanders (4-3 in a shootout). 

For the Kings, the game against Boston would be their sixth consecutive away. The first five have ended with two wins and three losses. Todd McLellan's team handled Ottawa (5-2) and Montreal (4-2) but failed to Toronto (0-5), Columbus (5-6 in overtime), and Buffalo (0-6). It's not the best midterm outcome, although Los Angeles has a margin for error - they rank fifth in the Western Conference standings.

Los Angeles failed their previous game - 0-6 to Buffalo. The team will likely play better against Boston, especially since Jonathan Quick will probably be back in goal. However, the Kings can barely keep up with the Bruins - neither Colorado nor Vegas has been booming of late, and it's doubtful that Los Angeles will put the East's leader anything insurmountable.
