Boston is a dominant team in the regular season. That was the case last season when the Bruins crushed just about everyone until the Cup battles began, and it's the same now. Right from the start of the good part of the championship, Jim Montgomery's side climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference standings, where they still are. It's important to note that there was a slight dip at the end of 2023 when they lost four consecutive matches. Fortunately, the crisis was quickly overcome, and they beat Buffalo 4:1, New Jersey 5:2, Detroit 5:3, and, the day before, Columbus 4:1.
Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh is still doing its best to climb into the playoffs, but it hasn't worked so well. The Penguins missed out on the Cup for the first time in years last season, and now their key players are getting older, so it's hard for them to compete with more athletic and faster teams. However, Mike Sullivan's men had a great run in December and January, picking up points in six straight games, winning five and losing 5:4 overtime to Ottawa. At the same time, the Pennsylvanians lost 4:3 to Washington the day before, leaving them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings for the time being.
Expert Betting Tips
Boston and Pittsburgh are completely different opponents in the current regular season. Things are going very well for the Bruins, who sit top of the Eastern Conference and are in great form, as evidenced by their current four-game winning streak. The Penguins, on the other hand, are struggling, outside the top eight, and unable to produce consistent results. The Penguins have also lost four of the last five head-to-head meetings, so it will be hard for them to count on points.
Pittsburgh has been playing some very entertaining and productive away games of late. They lost 7:0 to Toronto and beat the Islanders 7:0 in the last couple of weeks, while the Pennsylvanians have scored and conceded 30 goals in their previous four outings, averaging 7.50 goals per game.
