The Western Conference underdogs will face off in another NHL game of the day. Anaheim will take on Seattle. There are several bets on this game at once.

Last season's championship for Anaheim should be divided into two parts. In the first half, the Ducks played great and even led the Western Conference at one point. In the second half, they were losing match after match, and as a result, they were only the 13th team in the West. In the new season, the Dallas Eakins wards will try to run the championship more evenly.
Dylan Strome, an experienced rookie from the New York Rangers, will help Anaheim in that endeavor and is expected to lead the Ducks. Other signings included right-winger Frank Vatrano and defenceman John Klingberg, also experienced players that Anaheim clearly lacked.
Seattle didn't go the way of Vegas
While Vegas reached the Stanley Cup final in their first NHL season, Seattle not only failed to make the playoffs but narrowly missed out on being the worst team in the Western Conference, trailing only Arizona in the final standings. Kraken's management generally can't take credit for the expansion draft.
Seattle's signings this past offseason have not been overly impressive, either. Andre Burakovsky, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Justin Schultz, Michal Kempny - it is doubtful this set can inspire a quality jump for Kraken in the new championship.

Anaheim beat Seattle in two out of three games last season, and it looks like the upcoming meeting will also stay with the Ducks. Firstly, they play at home and will surely do their best to please the local crowd in the season's first game. Second, the Ducks' front office's work in the offseason looks far better than that of Kraken management. The Anaheim roster is better balanced and ready to meet the tournament challenges.
