The German national team is experiencing the best times in history. In 2018, the Germans became vice-champions at the Olympic Games for the first time, at the 2021 World Cup they reached the semi-finals, and at the 2023 World Cup they played in the main match of the tournament, where they still failed to cope with the Canadians and won silver honours. At the 2024 World Cup they will try to reach the medals, but it will be incredibly difficult to do so, as the tournament in the Czech Republic came very strong opponents. Nevertheless, in the opening game, Germany took a big step towards the playoffs by beating the Slovaks 6:4. Having beaten their direct rival in the fight for the top-4, the Germans relaxed a bit and the previous day they lost to the Americans 1:6.
Sweden
The Swedish team, on the other hand, is having a very tough time. At the last two Olympics, they were not among the medalists, and at the World Championships they were left without medals four tournaments in a row. Obviously, the Yellow and Blue want to break the streak of failures, so they have called up a whole host of star players from the NHL for the 2024 World Cup. Already in the opening game they faced a very skilful USA team, which they coped with. After that, the tournament calendar gave them an easy match against Poland, which they also beat.
Expert Betting Tips
Sweden is a team that traditionally plays well in the group stage of World Cups, but often has problems in the playoffs. So far, the 2024 World Cup has just started, so the Tre Krunur should have no big problems. They have already won both opening games, and now they have a great chance to extend their winning streak. Their next opponent will be the German national team, against whom the Yellow-Blues play traditionally successfully: in the last nine official head-to-head meetings, they won eight times. Now Sam Hallam's men should be stronger.
