Uganda vs South Sudan Prediction: Uganda will be unstoppable

The Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game between Uganda and South Sudan will take place at Mandela National Stadium. The home nation is heavily favored to win this game. Can South Sudan, on the road, pull off a win?

Uganda were held to a draw by South Africa in the opening game of this Africa Cup of Nations, a game that ended 2-2. However, in game two against Congo, the home team pulled off a 2-0 win. In that encounter, Aziz Kayondo and Jude Ssemugabi netted for Uganda, handling their first win in this qualifier. However, the home team has won two of their last five matches, one other against Botswana. In the meantime, Uganda drew Ghana in another encounter with their lone defeat in recent matches, a 1-2 defeat against Algeria. 

South Sudan are coming off a defeat to South Africa and will hope they find their luck here. In that game, they took the lead from the spot in the 15th minute, with Tito Okello scoring for them. However, Oswin Appollis scored twice for South Africa to overturn the scores before the break. Yet, Valentino Kuach Yuel leveled the score for South Sudan, but a last-minute strike by Thalente Mbatha was enough to see their opponent take the maximum points. With a defeat to Congo in their first game in this qualifier, South Sudan sit in the bottom spot of the standings with zero points, scoring two goals, with four conceded. 

South Sudan have not shown readiness in their last matches, and entering into this game, it is tough to back them. At home, Uganda look very confident, especially at how they have also performed against top African nations. This should be a one-sided game, and with recent strong performances, Uganda are expected to add to South Sudan’s woes.
